one more sleep

Tomorrow Gramps and Grandma arrive! I am not sure what to expect. I hope they will like me and take me for walks and let me play with them. I will hopefully have lots to tell you after their visit.

I think I will recognise them as I have read my book EVERY DAY!

Brunches and lunches

We went to the Southern Cross for brunch today. I had mini pancakes with maple syrup and banana, they were very yummy. Much better than Mummy's. When I am bigger I can go back and the waitresses will entertain me while Mum and Dad have a break. It will be so fun. I walked all around the restaurant to see what was what.

After brunch we walked around Wellington and looked at all sorts of shops. We even found one baby clothing shop where everything was so smal I would have to wear a size 2!

We finally got to Borders and I got bought a book. It's "hairy Mclairy from Donaldson's Dairy" by Lynley Dodd. She is a NZ author and all her books are great. They rhyme beautifully.

On our way back to the car we passed a outdoor interactive drum exhibit. I got to play the drums... it was apparently a lot like the Stomp setup. I LOVED IT. I even jammed with two tourists who thought I was ever so cute. They took my photo and everything. I didn't use a drumstick - I used my maraca, so even when I wasn't banging on the drums or hub caps etc I was still making music. I hope Mummy can find me a musical instrument appreciation class.

When we got home, I played in my paddling pool and helped Daddy in the garage. We also popped to the shops where I insisted on shouting hello to everybody in the shop and waved at them too. Just in case they didn't hear me from a mile away.

It was such a busy day I went to bed early and am hopefully going to be asleep all night!

I love my shoes

I have new shoes which already have a hole in them... It is a good thing Mummy didn't buy the really expensive ones. She's going to get me the proper big boy shoes once I walk more than I crawl.

I love them though. Every morning I find them and have either Mum or Dad put them on for me. Then I look at my feet for a while and just smile. I even wear them in my cot when I have a nap. Mummy tried taking them off but I cried so much it was easier to leave them on. She would take a photo but is worried the flash will wake me.

Have a good weekend, we are not doing too much other than getting ready to see Gramps and Grandma next Sunday.

My two favourite things to do...

water the garden naked!

water the garden naked!

My things attacked me!

In a very Calvin and Hobbes moment all my possessions piled on top of me... It was very touch and go I nearly lost my water bottle! Luckily I had my hat and a chocolate bar had been put just out of reach to encourage me to free myself.

Mummy is sick (ish)

Well Mummy isn't too well which is never good news. She has a bad cough and is finding it hard to keep up with me. I am getting so good at walking now that I do it quite often! I even tried to walk down the stairs on my own. Luckily, Mummy caught me.

It is nearly weekend and on Saturday it is our Coffee Group First Birthday Picnic! It's going to be so much fun, I hope it doesn't rain and that Mummy is better by then. Her medicine should kick in by then surely?

I have been meaning to tell you which signs I can use now. here is a list:

hello
goodbye
more
eat/food
flower
dog
cat
duck
hug
finished
tree

I am beginning to put them together now so I can tell Mummy and Daddy that I want "more food" or "more dog"*. I can also answer questions now with Finished or More - that is making life a lot easier for all of us.

I hope to learn book, drink, bath and nappy soon.

Well better go try for another all-nighter. I have managed two in the last 3.5 weeks so things are looking up for Mummy and Daddy!
*more dog means show me the dog pictures online again please

Random pictures from the last few weeks

eating marmite sandwiches and reading my bath book.
Reading Peter Rabbit a story, I liked this book so much Mummy had to buy me my own copy.
Shovelling in my favourite fruit, banana, before Daddy can grab it off me. I can say banana now. M&D say it's very cute. I like to yell it when Mummy and I go through the fruit section of the shop too.
Climbing onto the couch is fun. So is playing with the remote and changing the channels as Mummy is trying to check her email.

Reading in the front garden. It's fun.
I told you I love banana!
Wearing Daddy's cap.
